"Blurring Time" (the song!) is out now

I hope you’re having a good week! That feels like an email-ish thing to write. But, I really do hope you are having a good week. I think I have email jargon on the brain because I have exactly two weeks left at my 9-5 before I throw in the towel. Crazy.

I just wanted to let you know—in case you didn’t already—that the title track off of my upcoming album, Blurring Time, is out now.

My dear friend Daniel Crawford made the video, stop motion animation style. When I played him the Blurring Time rough mixes a year and a half ago, he sent me and email and a few sketches, articulating his vision: “The first idea that came into my mind was you traveling to a fantasy world through the mirror as you stare at this "body of mine." In this world you would encounter a mythical representation of your struggle. I kept picturing someone in a tower, you coming to free them in some way, perhaps you past self freeing your future self from the tower,” he wrote. “Then I day dreamed on that for a few days and this idea sort of tumbled out and the more I worked with it the more the lyrics connected to the symbols and narrative ideas. All very rough but something for you to react to and get the ball rolling.”

I’ve worked with Daniel a number of times now—for music stuff AND for day job stuff—and I can’t stress enough how much of a joy it is to do so. His imagination is glorious and epic, his talent is unmatched, and his heart is among the kindest I’ve had the pleasure of encountering <3

Blurring Time, the album, is out everywhere on April 25th! I’m really looking forward to playing it live this spring. Here’s where I’ll be:
